We have a very special family of four. Mother cat Emily and her kittens came to America from the Middle East. Emily was a street cat in Turkey where she was rescued just seconds before being struck by a car. She was fully pregnant and sat down in the road to rest when our volunteer swept her out of traffic. That night, Emily gave birth. Kittens Angel (F), Cupcake (F) and Cookie (M) are as loveable as can be. They love to play and climb and will surround you with affection each time you are near. We're hoping for a miracle as these dear hearts, who have come half way around the world to escape the violent attacks that are common on street cats. Cats here are stoned, poisoned, dropped off rooves and harmed in other ways too difficult to convey. There is simply a culture of violence toward cats and dogs in some parts of the world, and we are deeply grateful to have rescued this family. They are safe now, but face a new challenge. The cats have stomatitis (severe gingivitis) which appears to have a viral cause related to the upper respiratory infection they came down with shortly after arrival in the States. We're beginning treatment with specialists and will continue to be responsible for any special veterinary care needs for these cats, for life if needed. Truly, we don't want veterinary costs to stand between them and their perfect homes. All these cats need is a loving home with a very responsible, loving and trustworthy pet guardian who will see to it that their lives are filled with joy. Due to these cats special needs and the incredible journey to bring them thousands of miles to safety, we are looking for a very special home(s). While our ideal situation would be to adopt the cats in pairs, we would consider single adoption if needed. Please feel free to inquire.
